2. Rules of Conduct


Rules of Conduct for Coaches, Players, and Parents During Games and Training

1. Coaches:

Respect and Sportsmanship:

  • Treat all players, officials, and opponents with respect at all times.
  • Promote fair play and sportsmanship, both on and off the field.
  • Refrain from using abusive or derogatory language or behaviour.

Positive Reinforcement:

  • Encourage and motivate players with positive reinforcement.
  • Balance the overall welfare and success of the team with the development and progress of individual players.
  • Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their skills and confidence.

Safety and Welfare:

  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of all players.
  • Ensure that players are appropriately equipped and hydrated.
  • Be vigilant for signs of injury or distress and respond appropriately

Role Modeling:

  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating integrity, honesty, and leadership.
  • Follow all club policies, rules, and guidelines, setting an example for players to follow.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with players, avoiding any behaviour that could be misinterpreted.

2. Players:

Respect and Sportsmanship:

  • Show respect to coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials at all times.
  • Play fairly and uphold the spirit of the game, avoiding any actions that could harm others.
  • Accept decisions made by officials without protest or argument.

Teamwork and Cooperation:

  • Support and encourage teammates, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with coaches and fellow players.
  • Attend all games and practices on time, ready to participate fully.

Self-Discipline and Conduct:

  • Follow all club rules, regulations, and the coach’s instructions.
  • Avoid using offensive or abusive language and behavior.
  • Take responsibility for their actions on and off the field, demonstrating good sportsmanship at all times.

3. Parents:

Support and Encouragement:

  • Support and encourage all players, including your child, in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Applaud good performance and effort from all players, regardless of the game's outcome.
  • Avoid criticising players, coaches, or officials, and address any concerns through appropriate channels.

Respect for All:

  • Show respect to all coaches, officials, opponents, and other parents.
  • Refrain from using abusive, derogatory, or inflammatory language or behaviour.
  • Respect the decisions made by coaches and officials, recognising their roles in fostering a positive sporting environment.

Involvement and Responsibility:

  • Ensure that your child attends games and practices on time and with the necessary equipment.
  • Encourage your child to follow the club’s rules and the coach’s instructions.
  • Support the club’s policies on safety, welfare, and development, prioritising your child’s enjoyment and growth in the sport.
