Match Preview written by Jamie Stonehouse
Abingdon United Women can secure Women's National League safety with a point on Sunday afternoon, as they travel to face Southampton Women's FC at Winklebury Football Complex, 2pm kickoff.
This game comes after having a week's rest from their previous league game against Bridgwater United. This game turned out to be a 1-1 draw, as the visitors managed to secure a last-minute equaliser, delaying United surviving relegation for another two weeks at least, with The Yellows needing the win that day.
Abingdon face already relegated Southampton, and will want to aim to secure safety before the last game of the season, where they will face Keynsham Town on the 27th of April. The last time these two faced was back at The Northcourt, where Mollie Dyer secured a brace on her debut for the Yellows. Molly Lygo and Erin Hartigan also scored that day, winning 4-0, in Sam Froud's final game in his interim spell during the first half of the campaign.
The Yellows need one point from their last two games of the season to secure safety to seal off what has been a rollercoaster of a season.
