Match Preview: AFC Stoneham vs Abingdon United Development

Abingdon United WFC4 Apr - 14:20

United Women Development face Division One South side AFC Stoneham in the semi finals of the Chairman's Cup.

A place in a cup final is up for grabs for The Yellows, as our Women's Development head on the road to AFC Stoneham in the Southern Region Women's Football League Chairman's Cup Semi-Final, in a 2pm kickoff.

Jon Ward and Paul Biddle's side beat QK Southampton and Caversham United on their way to this stage, and will be hopeful of progressing even further this Sunday at Stoneham Lane Football Complex.

United come into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Kidlington Youth in Division One North. After going behind, debutant Lorena Lopez-Catalan equalised for the travelling Yellows, meaning a point was brought back to The Northcourt.

AFC Stoneham are having a similar campaign to United Development in their respective division. The hosts sit 3rd in Division One South, and battled past Badshot Lea and Kidlington Youth to reach this stage of the Chairman's Cup. Mia House comes into the game as AFC Stoneham's top scorer, with 15 goals in all competitions.

With a recent upturn in form in recent weeks, United have momentum on their side going into a vital encounter in their campaign.
