Abingdon United are delighted to announce the signing and appointment of Aaron Woodley, who becomes our Player-Assistant Manager.

Aaron is no stranger to the club having turned out for us in 2012/13 and again in the latter stages of last season.

The Midfielder began his career as a Profesional at Oxford United before spells with Oxford City, Banbury United, Swindon Supermarine, Didcot Town and North Leigh.

Aaron’s last spell at North Leigh saw him join Eddie Odhiambo’s coaching team and help guide the Millers to Promotion to the Southern Premier. He remained a coach under Chrissy Allen before dual registering with us towards the end of last season.

Aaron’s experience was vital and a great help to the young team around him. We saw glimpses of the quality he can bring on the pitch and look forward to seeing what he can do after a Pre-season under his belt.

Woodley joins John Mills coaching staff as Assistant Manager and his previous role at North Leigh will stand him in good stead going forwards.

Aaron is also our First Player to secure a Player Sponsorship as he will be proudly sponsored by Carl Catling Media for the 2023/24 season.
